A thesis hailed by the community
In addition to the scope, quality and impact of his work for the scientific community, the SF2A Board particularly praised the excellence of his thesis manuscript. It stands out for its clarity, the rigour of its analyses and the richness of its results.
In particular, the Board highlighted the remarkable bibliographic synthesis and the contextualisation of recent advances in galactic archaeology, particularly those resulting from the Gaia mission. This ability to present a dense body of scientific literature in a clear manner is testament to a great deal of maturity and exceptional hindsight.
The perfect mastery of the subject is expressed throughout the manuscript, particularly in the scientific discussions that accompany the presentation of the results.
Giulia Pagnini is currently a CNES postdoctoral fellow at Strasbourg Observatory, although she remains affiliated to Paris Observatory.
The award ceremony will take place during the SF2A 2025 conference, to be held at the Hôtel-Dieu hospital in Toulouse.
