On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the LIRA’s Equality & Quality of Life at Work Committee is joining forces with the Paris Observatory’s monitoring unit and Sorbonne University’s Equality Mission to "Orange the World" in response to the UN’s call.

A group of graffiti artists (all young women) painted orange murals in Zone 18 of Guatemala City in support of UN Women and the UNiTE to End Violence Against Women campaign.

The TOUS UNiS calls on everyone to wear orange and take action to end violence against women and girls in communities, homes, public places, schools, and workplaces, in times of conflict and in times of peace.

At LIRA, four people (at least one at each of the laboratory’s three sites) are part of the CNRS Terre et Univers – Astronomie et Astrophysique national equality network. These individuals are trained to listen to and refer victims and witnesses of gender-based and sexual violence to the support and reporting mechanisms set up by each of the laboratory’s supervisory bodies, in particular the PSL University Listening and Monitoring Unit and the CNRS Reporting Unit.
