Between exhibitions and conferences, the LIRA invites itself to Meudon !

2 octobre 2025 Par Raphaël de Assis Peralta Between exhibitions and conferences, the LIRA invites itself to Meudon !

In partnership with the town of Meudon, LIRA is organising two major events over the coming months : an immersive exhibition from 3 October to 2 November 2025, and a series of monthly conferences from October to February at the Potager du Dauphin.

An original exhibition

Photos, videos, models and space instruments : the "Journey from the Solar System to the Galaxies at the Heart of LIRA" exhibition invites visitors to explore the laboratory’s major research themes, from planetology to exoplanets, via the study of stars and galaxies. Each scientific area is presented through an emblematic mission, revealing the richness and complementarity of the work being carried out.

The originality of the exhibition lies in its cross-disciplinary approach to science and technology. It reveals the entire scientific chain - from the design of instruments by technicians, engineers and researchers, to the use of data leading to major astrophysical discoveries. It’s a plunge into the heart of the quest for knowledge that has driven humankind since time immemorial.

The exhibition will run from 3 October to 2 November 2025 at the Espace Culturel Robert Doisneau in Meudon, from Tuesday to Saturday (free admission).

A series of conferences

At the same time, the LIRA is inaugurating the "Observatory evenings" series, organised with the Université du Potager du Dauphin. Five lectures for the general public will provide an opportunity to find out what’s going on in astrophysics research.

At the end of each lecture, the Librairie Le Méandre will be offering a selection of books related to the theme being discussed, with the opportunity to sign books.

The series will take place at the Potager du Dauphin on Thursdays 9 October, 13 November, 11 December, 15 January, 19 January and 19 February, at 7pm. Open to all and free of charge (booking recommended).
